Last night I got the opportunity to see one of my all time favourite artists in concert, Ben Folds. He has been touring Australia playing with the various symphony orchestras. I was lucky enough to see the final performance with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra as well as I think it is the last show of the Australian Tour. It was my first time seeing Ben Folds live and it was freeking awesome! Just him on his own would have been enough but having the orchestra backing him just added so much. There was a pretty cool cross section with the audience, on the one had you had the Ben Folds fans, casual, young indie fans, then you had the ASO fans, older dressy 'high-class' people. I wonder if the latter knew exactly what they were getting into with all the 'sh*ts' and 'fu*ks' :P (during 'Rocking the Suburbs' he got the entire audience to yell out 'Fu*k!' quite weird yelling that out to the ASO :P) And oh how the audience went off when he broke out into 'Adelaide'.
But that being said, onto the purpose of this post. I have mentioned before that my all time favourite song is 'Such Great Heights' by the Postal Service. In my patented concert debrief of going through and listening to the songs and serching the bands website, I came across on You Tube a cover that aired on jTV of 'Such Great Heights' by Ben. I just thought it was so awesome I had to share it with the world. Check it out I dare you!
